Prosecutor's Office
Responsibilities
The Prosecutor's primary responsibilities include dealing with the most serious felonies and managing the top law enforcement office in the County.
In addition to these responsibilities in criminal law, the Prosecutor's Office also oversees a thriving child support program that collects millions of dollars every year for the benefit of the children in the community.
Above all else, it is the goal of the Prosecutor's Office to make Daviess County a place where people want to invest in jobs, where people feel safe, and where people want to raise a family.
Traffic Infractions (Deferral Program)
Certain traffic violations may be eligible for the prosecutor's deferral program. This program allows an individual to pay a fee based upon the type of infraction, and have prosecution delayed for a period of 6 or 12 months. If the violator completes the period with no violations, the infraction is dismissed and there is no conviction entered on the person's driving record.
For more information on the Deferral Program or to find out more about criminal cases please contact our office directly at 812-254-8673
