Responsibilities
The Daviess County Veterans' Service Office is a local information source for veterans and their dependents seeking federal benefits with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and state benefits through the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA).

Disability Deductions
Veterans with a service-connected disability or non service-connected disability that is total and permanent may file for property tax deductions at the local County Auditor's Office (812-254-8662). You will need the Veteran's Military Discharge form (DD 214) to verify service and an award letter from VA showing entitlement to compensation or pension.
DD 214 (military discharge paper) is required to initiate claims for benefits and may be recorded at the local County Recorder's Office or requested from www.archives.gov.
